Allison is a veteran arts educator committed to a universally accessible, inquiry-based pedagogy. As Lead Senior Educator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, Allison collaboratively designs and implements learner-centered programming for students, teachers, and families. Allison also serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Museum Educators of Southern California, maintaining all organizational records of the nonprofit, developing programming, and building strategic relationships. In her previous position as Executive Director of the Paul Gray PC Museum, Allison created virtual public programming, developed education resources, and now serves on the Board of Directors. Before transitioning to museum education, Allison taught elementary school Visual Arts for nine years. Throughout her career, she has maintained her own studio art practice, engaging in the same creative and reflective processes that she teaches. Allison holds a MA in Cultural Studies from Claremont Graduate University, a MA in Education from Antioch University, and a BA in Studio Art, Spanish, and International/Intercultural Studies from Pitzer College.
